The Music Departement at SJD offers Instrumental Music and Guitar Programs from grade 9 through to grade 12. The department also has a professional recording studio which is used in the Communication Technology course in grade 11 and 12. Music courses for beginners to more advanced instrumentalists are offered.
Students are encouraged to participate in the school's Concert Band. Students can obtain two credits in Band repertoire grade 11 and 12. SJD also encourages students to participate in Dunnplugged Concerts throughout the year.
